Your journal. Your choices.
How DearCycle handles your cycle journal, purchases, advertising and privacy requests.
Your chosen life stage and dates, period records, moods, optional wellbeing and intimacy details, contraception, food and water records, and notes stay in DearCycle’s encrypted journal on your device. No DearCycle account is required. Purchase, advertising and crash-reporting services handle separate technical data, described below.
Who is responsible
DearCycle is provided by J.R.SOSA & CO. LLC. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@juniorplatforms.com. This policy covers DearCycle for Android and these public information pages.
What stays on your device
The journal stores only the preferences and entries you choose to record: period dates and flow, symptoms, mood, energy, sexual-activity and protection labels, current contraceptive method, dated contraception actions and notes, meal notes, water amounts and general notes. Optional wellbeing records can include weight with its unit, sleep duration, temperature with its unit and measurement context, pain severity and body locations, discharge appearance, digestive, bowel, bladder or other observations, reported allergies, food categories and private notes. Optional intimacy details can include individually recorded sessions, clock times, durations, orgasm counts, protection labels, comfort and notes. Empty fields mean unrecorded; DearCycle does not assume zero or no activity.
You may explicitly choose cycle, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause or menopause context. Optional dates include an estimated due date and its source, a period date chosen specifically for pregnancy dating, birth date and the start date of your selected stage. Reported allergies and allergy notes may also be saved as profile preferences. Appearance, background, language, reading progress, reminder preferences and other journal settings are local.
DearCycle does not upload these records to us. We do not send them to RevenueCat, Google advertising services, Sentry, a cloud account service or a remote AI provider. We do not sell journal records or use them to choose ads. DearCycle does not request your contacts, precise location, camera, photo library, microphone or installed-app inventory.
The app encrypts its saved journal with a device-held key in platform secure storage. Journal files and keys are configured to be excluded from automatic backup or transfer. Separate non-journal app preferences are described below. Local protection is not a promise that every compromised device or every operating-system process can be prevented from accessing information.
Optional observations, life stages and estimates
Sexual-activity choices and detailed sessions are optional. An unrecorded day is unknown, not no sex; only sessions you enter count as recorded sessions. Protection and comfort are your own labels. DearCycle does not assess contraceptive effectiveness, pregnancy or infection risk, or infer activity from a comfort or pain observation. Weight, food categories, allergies, temperature and other wellbeing entries are observations, not diagnoses, nutritional targets or fertility measurements. None of these daily records determine ads, purchases, estimated fertile dates or reminder text.
Life stage is your explicit choice, not a state detected from symptoms, weight, a missed period, intercourse or temperature. Choosing pregnancy, postpartum or menopause pauses period forecasts, fertile highlights and upcoming-period reminders while preserving your history. Perimenopause retains period tracking with uncertainty and suppresses fertile highlights. Pregnancy weeks or time since birth are optional calendar estimates from dates you explicitly enter; an unknown date stays unknown. The app does not confirm pregnancy, diagnose menopause or change your stage automatically when a date passes.
Fertile-day and ovulation highlights are optional, off by default and calculated locally from period dates using a calendar assumption, not measured or confirmed ovulation. They are intended only for natural cycles; do not use them with hormonal contraception, during pregnancy, after a recent birth or while breastfeeding. Choosing a current hormonal, Other or unsupported method in Settings pauses highlights. The app does not infer breastfeeding status, and daily method actions do not rate protection or change estimated dates. Pregnancy can occur outside highlighted dates; they are not contraception or safe-day guidance.
App lock, reminders and widgets
App lock is optional. When enabled, DearCycle uses the device’s authentication system; it does not receive or store your fingerprint or facial template. Device security and the people who can unlock it also affect access. App lock keeps calendar widgets discreet, including after you unlock the app.
Daily check-in, upcoming-period and six personal routine reminders are optional and start off. You can choose recurring routines for water breaks, rest, movement, your method routine, appointments/planning and reflection, with your own clock time and weekdays. Routine types and schedules are saved in the encrypted profile. Background scheduling keeps only opaque local IDs, clock times, weekdays, language, revocation tokens and a delivery-window deadline in separate app preferences; the OS also holds alarms and messages outside journal encryption. No routine kind, health label, note, method, stage, weight or other journal value is copied there. Notifications use neutral wording; routine messages say “A moment for your routine” and open Settings. They are not dosing instructions or calculated clinical schedules. Appointments are recurring planning prompts, not confirmed appointment dates. Notification permission is requested only after an explicit enable action. Delivery is approximate and depends on Android permissions and battery settings. Opening DearCycle refreshes a finite 14-day routine window; reboot or clock/timezone restoration cannot extend it, and it stops when that window expires.
Shortcut widgets remain available. The period-calendar widget is free; pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause and moon widgets require verified DearCycle Plus. Personal calendar summaries are off by default. If you explicitly enable Show personal summaries in Settings, the Android launcher can display a minimal period estimate, estimated pregnancy week/due date, time since your entered birth date, selected stage or recent check-in count while the app is closed. Anyone who can see that launcher may see the summary. These are labeled estimates or recorded context, not confirmed health findings.
The app keeps that minimal summary snapshot only in memory, with a 24-hour lease and a foreground refresh-date label. It does not save a health snapshot to disk, and background widget updates do not open the journal. After process loss or lease expiry, the next widget update falls back to a discreet view until you open DearCycle to refresh. Android or the launcher may retain an already rendered view until its next refresh; disabling summaries, enabling app lock or closing the app is not a promise of instant removal from every launcher. Turn summaries off and remove the widget if you do not want personal information on your Home screen.
The Plus moon widget uses approximate offline astronomy and public moon-phase information; it does not use health records or interpret cycles, ovulation or fertility. It also falls back to a discreet view without current in-memory access or when app lock is enabled.
Exports and local deletion
You choose whether to export your journal. Exported CSV and JSON records and Plus PDF reports are not encrypted by DearCycle. DearCycle writes directly to the document destination you select through Android. Raw CSV/JSON exports include daily sexual-activity, contraception, meal, water and wellbeing records, including entered intimacy-session details. JSON includes the full saved profile; CSV also labels current life-stage context, reported allergies and allergy notes as current profile values rather than historical observations. PDF reports omit dedicated life-stage dates, wellbeing, intimacy, contraception, meal and water fields and exclude general private notes unless you explicitly include them; included notes may contain personal details you wrote. A destination app, recipient or saved copy is outside DearCycle’s control.
Use the journal deletion control in Settings to erase local journal records, related local settings and the journal encryption key. DearCycle cannot erase copies you previously exported or information held by another app, store or service provider. Local journal deletion does not delete previously submitted technical crash reports. Deleting your journal or uninstalling DearCycle does not cancel a store subscription.
There is no cloud journal backup or email recovery. Losing the device, reinstalling, or losing the encryption key can mean losing access to your records. We cannot recover a key or journal that we do not hold.
Purchases and RevenueCat
Google Play processes payments. DearCycle does not receive your payment-card or bank details. RevenueCat helps validate store purchases, restore eligible subscriptions and enable DearCycle Plus.
RevenueCat receives an automatically generated app purchase identifier, store purchase/receipt information and related subscription status, product, currency, locale and technical request information. These records are separate from your journal. DearCycle does not attach your name, email, period dates or notes to purchase requests, and it disables optional automatic device-identifier collection and diagnostic reporting in its RevenueCat configuration.
Purchase history supports entitlement delivery, fraud prevention and subscription analytics. Store and purchase-service records may remain for service operation, support, fraud prevention and applicable recordkeeping requirements. The stores keep their own purchase records. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Technical crash and unresponsive-app reports
The release Android app uses Sentry to help us diagnose crashes and occasions when the app stops responding. Automatic reports contain limited technical details: the app release and build, report time, a random report identifier, and sanitized exception types and code stack information. DearCycle does not include journal content, contraceptive methods or actions, food or water notes, dates selected in the journal, names, email addresses, purchase identifiers, user identifiers, exception messages or free-text logs in these reports.
Screen recording, screenshots, session replay, interaction breadcrumbs, performance tracing and profiling are disabled. Crash reports are separate from the journal and are not used for advertising or health analysis. You can turn off Share technical crash reports in Settings to stop future report delivery. This does not delete reports already received by Sentry. They may be held locally until they can be delivered securely and are retained by Sentry under the service’s retention settings.
Making a network connection necessarily allows Sentry and its infrastructure to process a connection IP address. DearCycle does not attach an IP address or user identity to the crash event; this is not a promise that no network data is processed. For provider details, see Sentry’s privacy policy. Contact us about privacy requests without sending your journal.
Advertising and your privacy choices
Eligible free adult users may see one adaptive banner below the app’s bottom navigation on Today, Calendar, Insights and Learn after onboarding. Labeled native ad cards may also appear after Today’s learning recommendation and between guides in Learn. Native cards adapt their layout to the surrounding screen; your journal and reading activity are not used to select their content. DearCycle first verifies store ownership and checks Google’s current privacy status, presenting any required consent form before ad requests. DearCycle uses Google AdMob and Google’s consent tools; there is no separate sponsorship opt-in switch. DearCycle shows no ads in Settings, check-ins, article readers, editors, reports, exports, lock screens, onboarding, permission dialogs or purchase screens. Ads are also hidden while the keyboard is open or a protected flow covers the main tabs. There are no launch, exit or full-screen ads. DearCycle does not supply journal entries, sexual-activity or protection labels, cycle estimates, health details, note-search queries, selected dates, article-reading history, keywords or a content URL for ad targeting. Requests use the SDK’s non-personalized setting, strict limited-ad treatment and a disabled publisher first-party ID.
Non-personalized does not mean that no technical data is processed. Google’s services can receive network information such as your IP address and approximate location inferred from it, app or device identifiers, ad interactions and SDK diagnostic/performance data. Google uses technical data for ad delivery, measurement, security and fraud prevention, and may share it with advertising partners. DearCycle removes Android advertising-ID permission.
Use Settings to review the ad provider’s privacy choices when available. Those choices are managed by Google’s consent tools, and are separate from Plus ad removal. Unknown purchase or consent status suppresses ad requests. A verified active DearCycle Plus entitlement removes all banner and native ad placements; loaded or late-arriving ads are discarded. Plus does not erase technical information already received by a provider. See Google’s privacy policy and Google’s ad controls.
Support, website access and external links
If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you choose to send. For purchase help, an order or transaction reference may help locate the relevant purchase. Please do not send your journal, period history, private health notes, payment-card details or authentication credentials. Support correspondence is used to answer your request and handle related issues, and is retained while needed for those purposes or required recordkeeping.
These public pages use no advertising scripts, analytics scripts or external fonts, and set no cookies. The website host still processes standard connection and security information, such as IP addresses and HTTP request details, to deliver the pages. Links to educational sources or provider controls open an external website, usually in a browser tab over DearCycle, with its own privacy practices. Closing the tab returns to the app.
Privacy requests and retention
You can access and export your journal or erase it in the app without contacting us. Local records remain until you delete them or the installation is removed; loss of the encryption key can also make them inaccessible.
For support correspondence, publisher-managed purchase records or technical crash reports, email contact@juniorplatforms.com with the subject “DearCycle privacy request.” You may ask for access, correction or deletion of information we hold. Include only enough information to find your request or purchase; we may ask for proportionate verification. Do not send journal records. We will explain any records that must be retained and any requests that belong with a store or another provider. These choices do not affect rights available under applicable law.
Service providers may process purchase, support or technical data in countries other than your own. The journal itself is not transferred to those providers by DearCycle.
Adults and policy changes
DearCycle is intended for adults aged 18 and older. It is not designed for children. To check adult access, DearCycle uses age categories shared by Google Play when available, with local adult confirmation where the platform permits that path. DearCycle does not ask for or retain your date of birth or identity documents. Google Play age responses and access decisions stay in memory, with a brief foreground handoff; a cold start or longer absence refreshes the platform check. DearCycle separately remembers only your own adult-confirmation boolean on this device, outside the encrypted journal, when Google Play explicitly permits local confirmation. That declaration is not a saved Play age result or identity verification. Required verification, an under-18 result or an unavailable check cannot be bypassed by it. The confirmation and Play responses are not attached to advertising, purchase or crash-report requests. Erasing the journal does not erase this separate app preference; clearing Android app storage or uninstalling removes it. A required check that is unavailable or does not establish adult access prevents entry while preserving saved records. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact us so we can review and address it.
We will update this page when DearCycle’s practices change. The date below identifies the current policy. A change that needs a new permission or consent will be addressed through the applicable app or provider controls.
