Contact DearCycle
Support is provided by J.R.SOSA & CO. LLC in English and Spanish. Screenshots can help with a layout issue; use a screen without journal details and remove personal information first. We do not need a journal export to troubleshoot the app.
Where is my journal?
Your journal is stored locally on your device. No sign-in is required and DearCycle does not keep a cloud copy. Reinstalling, losing your device or losing the encryption key can prevent access. If the app reports a storage problem, keep the installation and retry; do not uninstall it as a recovery step. Support cannot reconstruct a key or records we do not hold.
Adult access uses current Google Play status where available. When Play permits local adult confirmation, DearCycle remembers only your own confirmation on this device, separately from the journal. Play age results stay in memory and a cold start or longer absence refreshes the check. A required verification or unavailable check cannot be bypassed by a saved confirmation. If access is blocked, preserve the installation and use the available retry or Play verification flow; do not send identity documents or health records to support.
Manage DearCycle Plus
Use Restore purchases in DearCycle’s Plus area with the store account that made the purchase. For help locating a purchase, send its order or transaction reference without payment details. Restore recovers eligible Plus access, not your journal.
Manage renewal, cancellation and store receipts through Google Play subscriptions. Deleting the app or journal does not cancel a subscription.
Language and advertising
Change the app language in Settings. Choose English, Spanish or the device language; there is no language switch in the toolbar.
Eligible free adult users may see an adaptive banner below the app’s main navigation and labeled native cards beside learning content on Today and Learn. Settings, check-ins, article readers and other protected flows have no ads. Verified active DearCycle Plus removes all banner and native ads. Review Google’s available privacy choices in Settings. The Privacy Policy explains the separate advertising services.
Optional intimacy and cycle highlights
A check-in can record with protection, without protection, both, no sex or leave activity unrecorded. Detailed encounters are optional: add only sessions you want to record, with optional time, duration, orgasm count, protection, comfort and notes. A blank amount is unknown; an entered zero remains zero. Recorded frequency counts entered sessions only and is not a claim about unrecorded days. Comfort observations do not automatically record intercourse. Protection labels do not assess effectiveness or pregnancy or infection risk.
Settings offers estimated fertile days and ovulation for natural cycles, off by default. Read the explanation before enabling them. Estimates can be wrong and pregnancy can occur outside highlights. They are not contraception or safe-day guidance. Hormonal methods, pregnancy, recent birth and breastfeeding are outside their intended use. Choosing pregnancy, postpartum or menopause pauses period estimates and upcoming-period reminders; perimenopause suppresses fertile highlights. Missing, overdue or highly variable dates may also prevent a display. Intimacy, orgasm, temperature and wellbeing observations do not change estimated fertile dates.
CSV/JSON exports include entered private details. PDF reports omit dedicated intimacy, wellbeing and life-stage dates, as well as contraception, meal and water fields; general notes are excluded unless you include them. Included general notes can contain whatever you wrote. Review the content and destination before sharing.
Life stages and optional wellbeing
Choose your life stage in Settings: cycle, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause or menopause. It is your choice, not an assessment by the app. Pregnancy dating can use an optional estimated due date or a period date you explicitly specify for that purpose. The app does not borrow an older cycle date to infer pregnancy. You may leave dates blank. Pregnancy weeks and time since birth are calendar estimates, and the app never changes your stage automatically. Review uncertain dates with your care team.
Expand only the check-in sections useful to you. Optional fields include weight with kg or lb, sleep duration, temperature with unit and context, pain intensity and locations, discharge, digestive or urinary observations, allergies, food categories and notes. Settings can hold reported allergies and allergy notes. These records are personal observations, not a diagnosis, allergy test, food-safety certification, weight goal, nutritional assessment or treatment instruction.
Contraception method/actions, meal notes and water amounts remain available. Distinguish your current method in Settings from a dated observation; hormonal or Other current methods pause natural-cycle fertile highlights. A recorded daily action does not confirm protection or calculate medication timing. Keep private details out of support emails; support does not need a journal export.
Reminders and widgets
In Settings, choose daily check-in, upcoming-period or personal routine reminders. The six free routines cover water breaks, rest, movement, your method routine, appointments/planning and reflection. Each starts off; choose its clock time and weekdays, then explicitly enable it and allow notifications when requested. The method routine uses your chosen time, not calculated doses or clinical timing. Appointment reminders repeat weekly for planning; confirm actual appointments separately. If Android blocks notifications, open its notification settings and retry. Delivery is approximate and battery/focus settings can affect it.
Routine notifications say only “A moment for your routine” and open Settings. Your selected routine type and journal details are omitted. The encrypted journal holds routine preferences; background scheduling keeps only opaque IDs, clocks, weekdays, language, revocation tokens and a finite deadline. Open DearCycle to refresh the next 14 days. Reboot or clock/timezone changes can rebuild only the remaining window, and the schedule stops at expiry.
Explore widgets in Settings or use your Android launcher's widget picker. The period calendar is free. Plus adds pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause and moon widgets. Pinning a widget does not change your stage. Personal summaries are off by default. Show personal summaries allows minimal period estimates, estimated pregnancy weeks/due dates, time since birth, mode or check-in counts to appear outside the closed app. Anyone who sees your launcher may see them. App lock always keeps calendar widgets discreet. The Plus moon widget uses public approximate astronomy without interpreting health.
Personal summaries show a refresh date and use a snapshot held only in RAM for up to 24 hours. No health snapshot is saved to disk and background updates do not read the journal. After process loss or expiry, the next widget update is discreet until you reopen DearCycle. The launcher may retain a previous rendered view until refreshed, so do not rely on instant disappearance. Turn summaries off or remove the widget to avoid Home-screen disclosure.
Export, erase and privacy requests
Settings provides a journal export and local deletion control. Exports are not encrypted by DearCycle; choose the destination carefully. Local deletion cannot erase copies already shared or cancel a store subscription.
For information held through support, purchase or technical crash-reporting services, email DearCycle privacy requests. Our Privacy Policy explains what is local, what services process and how to request access, correction or deletion.
Crashes and app reliability
The release app sends limited technical crash and unresponsive-app reports to Sentry so we can investigate reliability. Reports exclude your journal, method and food notes, account identities, screenshots and recordings. Turn off Share technical crash reports in Settings to stop future delivery; previously received reports are not erased. Network services still process connection information. See the Privacy Policy for details. For a startup problem, keep your installation and contact support with the app version and a short description; do not send a journal export or uninstall as a recovery step.
Health questions
DearCycle provides personal tracking and general education. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It does not confirm ovulation or pregnancy and is not birth control. Ask a qualified healthcare professional about symptoms or medical decisions. For an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
